Things Accomplished in Fiction: Got started again after a long hiatus while I was off from school. Got some stuff figured out for this scene, but others need more attention and some more tweaking. Really, I’m probably just overthinking it lol. I’m a little miffed though because I really thought I had finished more in the last few hours than I actually did.
Things Accomplished in Real Life: So last night we got our first blizzard in like, years. We’ve had some pretty big snows but nothing that actively warranted multiple official blizzard warnings to go into effect. The temperature this morning was literally 10 degrees, and right now it’s a whopping 17 degrees, and has been snowing allllll day!
Salem loves snuggles on a cold day 💜
The snow was coming down so hard, I couldn’t even see my neighbor’s house. Last I checked, it was still going! A lot of my friends had posted about how bad the ice is, several of them having already fallen on it while trying to leave their houses, and I even heard of people just outright abandoning their cars last night when it began to accumulate. It’s days like today I’m glad I get to stay home, and make me want to work even harder to make being an author my full-time job.
Honestly, I kind of love it when it snows really big like this—and I know I’ll love it even more when I don’t have to worry about getting out in it in a couple of days! I like the idea of staying nice and warm and snuggly in my own house, with my pets and crafts and all my media. There’s something weirdly soothing about it and it’s just going to get worse (better?) as we get more of the house put together the way we like it. Once I have my new office, then it’ll be all over for me!
So I figured, what better day to hole up in my office and write?
I made myself a nice hot mug of hot chocolate in my Kiki’s Delivery Service mug, and ended up writing for the last several hours. I only stopped because I had an insatiable urge to have lunch and then play more Baldur’s Gate 3, and since school hasn’t technically started back up yet I’m not under any official pressure to meet word counts.
That’s the ADHD talking, isn’t it?
But yeah, I think I’m going to go play Baldur’s Gate 3 now. I might come back to writing, and I also might not. More than likely I’ll probably break out my tablet / my typewriter keyboard for that and play with some other smaller projects in tandem with playing BG3. Dividing my attention like that, weirdly enough, sometimes helps me focus even better?
Wild.
Anyway, that was my mediocre, had-hoped-to-do-better-but-at-least-I’m-getting-back-into-it-before-class-starts-this time writing update!
See you next time~!
